Sir Robert MURRAY of Stanhope
Sir Robert MURRAY, second son of Sir John MURRAY and Margaret
FERGUSSON, was born 4 March 1745 in Edinburgh. On 12 December 1774, Sir Robert
was married to Elizabeth PICKMORE in Chester, in Cheshire. She was born about 1758 and was the sister of Vice-Admiral Francis
PICKMORE. Sir Robert MURRAY died about 1793 in Keynsham, County Somerset.
Children of Robert MURRAY and Elizabeth PICKMORE:
i. Sir David MURRAY, who succeeded to Stanhope.
ii. Sir John MURRAY
iii. Emily MURRAY.
iv. Francis MURRAY.
