
Ann Halliday Murray TUDHOPE
Ann Halliday MURRAY was born about 06 September 1850 in the Cambusnethan Parish of Lanarkshire.
She was a daughter of Robert MURRAY and Ann INGLIS.
Ann worked as a Domestic Servant and helped her brother-in-law, John DOBIE, with his young family when
he was widowed in 1873.
On 19 December 1873, Ann Halliday MURRAY married Thomas TUDHOPE at Murdoston in the
Parish of Shotts in Lanarkshire. Thomas was born about 1850 in the Newhouse district of Lanarkshire
and was a son of James TUDHOPE and Robina GIBSON. Thomas TUDHOPE worked as a Bread Deliveryman
in the area of Gartness, Lanarkshire.
Ann Halliday Murray TUDHOPE died on 06 September 1893 in Gartness. Thomas TUDHOPE
died on 26 April 1909 in the Bellshill District of Lanarkshire.
Children of Thomas TUDHOPE and Ann Halliday MURRAY:
i. James TUDHOPE, who was born on 01 May 1874 in the Chapelhall District
of the Bothwell Parish of Lanarkshire.
ii. Agnes Murray TUDHOPE, who was born on 31 October 1875 in Chapelhall.
iii. Robert TUDHOPE, who was born on 13 October 1877 in Chapelhall.
Robert never married an worked as a Brickyard Journeyman in the Motherwell area of Lanarkshire.
Robert lived at 31 Hope Street in Motherwell and died on 19 September 1931 as the result of injuries received in a motor accident on Main Street
just west of the railway bridge in Blantyre.
iv. Robina Gibson TUDHOPE, who was born on 04 October 1879 at Russell's
Cottage in Chapelhall.
v. Thomas TUDHOPE, who was born on 31 October 1881 at Russell's Cottage.
vi. Grace Murray TUDHOPE, who was born on 15 June 1884 at Gartness in the
Shotts Parish of Lanarkshire.
vii. Annie TUDHOPE, who was born on 03 October 1888 at Gartness.
viii. John TUDHOPE, who was born on 14 September 1890 at Gartness.
