William MURRAY, Tenant in Fruid

Early in the 18th century William MURRAY, tenant in Fruid in the Tweedsmuir Parish
married Margaret TWEEDIE, a.k.a. "Gudewife o'
Herstanes." (Good wife of Hearthstanes) Margaret was baptized 28 Dec 1678,
the daughter of Alexander TWEEDIE and Marion HUNTER. William MURRAY, tenant in Fruid died sometime before about 1717.
Margaret TWEEDIE was married secondly, probably before 1719 to
Humphrey WELSH, tenant at Hearthstanes in
the Tweedsmuir Parish of Peeblesshire. Margaret TWEEDIE died on 03 Apr 1772 in Tweedsmuir.
William MURRAY and Margaret TWEEDIE had the following
children:
i. James
MURRAY, born about 1703, Tenant in Easter Stanhope.
ii. John
MURRAY, born about 1708, tenant in Hearthstane.
iii. Mary MURRAY, born about 1712.
